Ofheo Unveils Mortgage Risk Rules


The U.S. government's Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (Ofheo) is preparing a notice of proposed rule-making regarding its statutory risk-based capital requirements for government sponsored enterprises such as federal mortgage institutions.

The agency's credit loss stress-testing benchmark and details of its U.S. home sales price index are expected to be published in January, after they are reviewed by the U.S. government's Office of Management and Budget.
