New chief for Spanish derivatives exchange

Meff, the Spanish futures and options exchange, has named Fernando Centelles as its new chief executive.

Centelles joined Meff in 1989 as deputy chief executive. He succeeds Jose Massa, who has moved on to become chairman of Iberclear, the Spanish clearing and settlement agency.

Massa was also head of the derivatives division of BME, the Spanish exchange operating company. He is succeeded by Francisco Ona Navarro, the deputy chairman of Meff. Navarro will be responsible for co-ordinating the fixed-income and derivatives businesses within BME.

In addition, Jesus Benito has been named as chief executive of Iberclear. He was previously head of strategy and promotion.
