MacIntyre to leave DeAM for New York City fund

Desmond MacIntyre, head of European pension strategy at Deutsche Asset Management (DeAM), plans to leave the German manager at the end of the month to take on the role of chief investment officer at the New York City Retirement Systems fund.

MacIntyre, who has a strong reputation in the pensions industry and previously worked as chief financial officer at General Motors’ pension fund, joined Deutsche’s London office in 2001.

The New York City Retirement Systems pension fund managed assets worth $112 billion at the end of March last year. These assets were diversified 68.7% into equities and 31.3% into fixed income at this time.

It is unclear if DeAM will seek a replacement for MacIntyre.
