Asset managers ready to attack regulatory

Managing operational risk issues surrounding regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley and Basel II is proving onerous for many, but some asset managers are charging ahead with implementing the logistics of compliance. By Dianne See Morrison

Asset management firms are counting themselves lucky. While banks are scrambling to understand the full impact that regulatory issues such as Basel II and Sarbanes-Oxley have on their business, investment managers are recognising that they just may have an advantage when it comes to managing the operational risk surrounding these regulations.
