'Do it yourself', European regulators told over corporate governance

BRUSSELS – National regulators should take the lead in setting out good corporate governance models rather than looking to the EU to set the standard for member states, a meeting at the European Commission has heard.

Addressing attendees at a Hearing on future priorities for the action plan on company law and corporate governance at the European Commission in Brussels, Arkadiusz Radwan, managing director for the European Centre for Comparative Commercial and Company Law, said: "There are massive differences between company law in each member state, and we must ask if it is possible for the European Commission
