$24bn outsourcing growth for 2006

NEW YORK – Members of the Outsourcing Institute plan to sign some $24 billion worth of new outsourcing contracts in 2006, according to research released by the New York-based institute of global buyers and vendors of outsourcing services.

The Institute's eighth annual outsourcing index, which surveys new members, shows that 1,491 new members joined in 2005. Those members plan to buy over $24 billion in new contracts in 2006, in addition to the $19.4 billion stake in the market they already manage. The Institute has about 7,000 members.
