State Street adds six in fixed income
Institutional fund manager State Street Global Advisors has appointed six senior executives to its global fixed-income team. All six will report to Mark Marinella, State Street’s new global fixed-income chief, and will be based in Boston.
William Cunningham is appointed head of credit strategies and fixed-income research. He joins from State Street’s global markets group, where he worked in the fixed-income broker/dealer business. Cunningham’s duties include directing portfolio management in high-yield and investment-grade bonds.
Thomas Hagstrom becomes head of fixed-income business management. He joins State Street from RBS Greenwich Capital, where he was a founding member of the credit business. Previously, he worked for State Street Research and Management, where he was head trader and member of the fixed-income leadership group. In his new role, Hagstrom will have chief operating officer responsibilities, including oversight of all processes, transactions and deliverables.
Brett Wander is the new head of active fixed-income and alpha strategies. He joins from Loomis Sayles, where he was in charge of fixed-income alpha strategies.
The three other moves, all internal, see John Kirby and Kevin Anderson co-lead fixed-income beta solutions, while Bill Street co-leads European and Asian regions, along with Anderson.
Kirby joined State Street in 1995 and was most recently head of the fixed-income index team. Anderson’s previous positions include managing the fixed-income beta solutions team and the structured fixed-income team in London. Street was most recently head of international rates, with responsibility for leading the active rates teams in London and the US, along with the global credit function.
