Tokenisation could boost repo capacity by up to 60%

Tokenised collateral could allow financial firms to do 40–60% more repo trading with the same balance sheet, according to Yuval Rooz, chief executive of blockchain firm Digital Asset. 

Rooz’s firm is currently working with the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) to tokenise US Treasury securities, which can then be posted as collateral for repo trades on Digital Asset’s Canton Network.
