John Hancock Life Insurance added $9 billion in new inflation swap positions during the first quarter of the year, growing its notional in the space nearly 150%.

With the Boston-based firm’s book now standing at approximately $15.2 billion, the Manulife subsidiary accounts for approximately three-quarters of the inflation swap market for US life insurers, according to data from industry
