Brussels faces a cold, hard deadline to build clearing regulation accord in Europe

Even as the heat index in Europe rises, the chill of a legislative deadline hangs in the air at the Berlaymont.

The European Commission’s own deadline to end UK equivalence for central clearing counterparties (CCPs) is set in stone for June 30, 2025, and it is putting all its might behind whatever measures might be needed to bring euro swaps clearing into the EU.

The EC is now looking to build
