CME’s exchange-traded credit future approved

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has approved the Chicago Mercantile Exchange’s exchange-traded credit derivatives index contract.

The exchange will now launch the contracts on June 17.

The product, whose launch had been delayed since May while it awaited approval, references the CME North American Investment Grade High Volatility Index Series 1. The index is made up of 32 actively traded investment-grade, high-volatility names selected from the five-year credit default swap market.
