Van Eck launches Fallen Angels ETF amid increased demand for high-yield corporate debt

Van Eck tempts corporate bond investors with Fallen Angel ETF

The listing of a so-called 'fallen angel' exchange-traded fund (ETF) by US-based provider Van Eck has underscored the continuing demand for high-yield corporate debt. So far in April, iShares has launched four funds that provide exposure to high-yielding securities, while Van Eck's fallen-angel fund is its second high-yield ETF launch this month.

The global high-yield corporate bond market has risen in value from roughly $219 billion in 1997 to $1,343 billion in 2011, according to a Van Eck
