Growth of hedge fund indices will separate the 'wheat from the chaff'

Hedge fund indices are a catalyst to industry changes that will weed out poor managers and accelerate cycles in some capacity-constrained strategies, according to the head of index provider, HFR Europe.

John Godden said the growth of indices is the 'natural progression of a maturing market,' which would help to attract more institutional money to the industry.
