Indexed product providers under attack from hedge fund managers

Indexed product providers have been forced to defend their products in the face of fierce criticism by hedge fund managers.

Hedge fund managers have questioned in strong terms whether indices could be representative of the hedge fund universe, and so replicate the universe's returns, as well as branding the index-based products static and unresponsive to emerging talent.
