Barclays launches short and leveraged iPath ETNs

Barclays Bank has listed its first leveraged and short iPath exchange-traded notes (ETNs) on the New York Stock Exchange.
The 11 new iPath notes give short or leveraged exposure to the Russell 1000, Russell 2000, S&P 500, MSCI EAFE and MSCI Emerging Markets indexes. There is also a leveraged ETN on the S&P 500 Vix Mid-Term Futures Index.
The US domestic indexes are accessed through a three-times-leveraged ('extended') ETN, while the others have two-times ('enhanced') leveraging applied to them.
