HSBC has launched an exchange-traded fund (ETF) based on the FTSE 250 index, a move away from the usual FTSE 100 products that dominate the UK market. The mid-cap index comprises some of the fastest growing UK-listed companies and the index has risen rapidly as the economy has recovered, according to the bank. HSBC plans to list the ETF on the London Stock Exchange and then across Europe in the coming months. HSBC is a new player in the ETF market and this new product is part of the bank’s plans
