US Wrap: Equity plays close the week

ABN Amro issued nine reverse convertible at the close of last week in the US market, linked to the usual equity plays. All of the new structures have maturities of three months. One of the highest coupons on offer was 18.75% annualised, linked to the stock of Arch Coal. It has a conversion barrier of 80%.

The remaining products were largely accelerated growth structures linked to US equity. Wells Fargo bucked the trend by launching a note linked to the iShares MSCI Eafe Index Fund, which incorporates international equity. As with most of the bank's products now being issued, it was packaged using the external credit of Eksportfinans, with 200% participation in the fund over two years and no downside protection.
