Lehman launches Enhanced Emerging Markets Plan

Lehman Brothers has launched the capital protected Enhanced Emerging Markets Plan, which provides exposure to the growth of the Brazil, Russia, India and China economies (Bric). The plan offers a choice of either 110% rise in the S&P Bric 40 index after three-and-half years, up to a maximum return of 32%; or 130% rise in the same index after five years, up to a maximum return of 60%. The S&P Bric 40 index is a basket comprising 40 leading securities, which represent the largest and most liquid companies in Brazil, Russia, India and China.

"Investors often read about the fast growth of emerging market economies but most do not want the downside risks of investing directly,” says Paul Adams, head of sales of UK Structured Retail Products at Lehman Brothers.
