BNP Paribas offers Conquistador 20 to French investors

BNP Paribas has launched a new collective investment trust (fonds communs de placement) targeted at cautious French retail investors who want equity exposure. Conquistador 20 is linked to a basket of twenty Euro zone shares, with a capital guarantee at its five-year maturity.

The fund is also available in a PEA wrapper (plan d’epargnes en actions) which is a type of personal savings plan linked to share investments. At maturity, the average performance of the five lowest value shares in the basket is pulled up to 20%.

The best five performing shares are fixed at 20%, and the actual average performance of the remaining 10 is used. The pay-off at maturity, which is September 20 2013, is equal to 80% of the basket’s performance, calculated by taking the average of the
