Prudential launches Asia Pacific Income Fund in Malaysia

Prudential in Malaysia has launched the Asia Pacific Income fund. The fund will invest at least 90% (target 96%) of the fund’s net asset value (NAV) into a structured products issued by Deutsche Bank Malaysia. In turn, Deutsche will invest in Ringgit-denominated money instruments to generate interest payments over three years.

This interest payments will be swapped for the over-the-counter (OTC) options which will provide exposure to the performance of a basket of 30 Asia Pacific stocks. According to Prudential, the investment of 96% of the fund’s NAV in the structured products issued by Deutsche will grow to 100% and this shall provide capital protection upon maturity.

The minimum initial investment is RM 5,000 and subsequent investment is RM 1,000. The offer closes on August 26 or when the fund is fully subscribed.
