RMBS drives Dutch securitisation to new record

Securitisation in the Netherlands reached record volumes last year, according to Moody's 2006 review.

An increase in deal sizes is responsible, with EUR40.4 billion of rated funded risk transfer across 25 public transactions last year, as against EUR38.8 billion across 27 deals in 2005.

Residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) formed the market's biggest component and are expected to remain in that position, while asset-backed securities (ABS) and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS)
