BarCap's Thompson to offer insight into VAR-based pension plan asset allocation decisions

UK pension plans are in a bind. According to Thompson, Britain’s largest companies are facing a hole in their pension scheme accounts equal to nearly 10% of their market capitalisation. Employee and employer contribution levels were low between 1987 and 1998.
