People - New appointments at F&C

F&C Asset Management has promoted Richard Wilson to the newly created position of head of equities, from his present role as head of pan-European equities. Wilson has been with the company since September 2003 and is a member of the management committee. He was head of international equity investments at Gartmore before joining F&C and prior to holding this position he spent a decade at Deutsche Asset Management in several fund management roles.

F&C has also appointed Andrew Lake as director of its high yield division. Lake joins F&C from Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM) where he was director of the US company's high yield arm in Chicago. He initially trained as a lawyer, gaining a Diploma in Law from City of London University and studying the Bar Vocational Course at the Inns of Court School of Law. He was called to the Bar in 1995.
