The Danish government introduced new legislation on July 1 that changed the way the local hedge fund market operates. For the first time, retail investors will have direct access to hedge funds, and some of the tax disincentives that were in place have been removed. In addition, a new act has allowed for the registration of onshore hedge funds, and local fund managers, such as Carnegie and Scandium, are expecting to launch products before the end of the year.
