AAM, the asset management division of US-based investment firm FIS Group, has been distributing structured products for the past year. Here, writing on behalf of the Structured Products Association, Negin Janati speaks with its first vice-president Randal Pegg about the challenges of distributing derivatives-based investments in the US

Advisors Asset Management's first year as a distributor of structured products just concluded. How did it go? Did the initiative live up to expectations?

AAM entered the structured products market in March 2006. We have experienced numerous successes throughout the past year, and now have more than 200 individuals, both internal and external, dedicated to the successful distribution of our products throughout the United States. AAM is excited to be working closely with our strategic partners
