KDP casts doubt on Ford’s credit status

Concerns about Ford Motor’s credit rating were brought to the foreground last month, when research firm KDP Investment Advisors stated that the automotive giant did not warrant an investment-grade rating.

KDP analyst Kip Penniman believes that diminishing market share, a projected decline in earnings from the North American unit and ongoing losses in Europe are the prime reasons for putting Ford at the higher end of KDP’s speculative-grade ratings, equivalent to BB+ from rating agency Standar
