
Credit quality hit by rise in M&A activity

During the past month, a number of significant mergers and acquisitions have reshaped the landscape of several sectors such as consumer products and, more notably, the telecom industry. But some market experts are concerned that the recent surge in M&A activity will weaken investor interest in sectors rife with activity, as credit profiles become directly affected by consolidation.
In a recent report, analysts at Citigroup noted that they have been underweight consumer products for “some time”
