Uridashi knockouts push Japan dividend futures to outperform Nikkei


The rally in the Japanese equity markets and corresponding knockout of retail structured product investments have had a pronounced impact on the Japan dividend market.

Just eight months ago, dealers were pitching dividend swaps and dividend futures to hedge funds after a slump in the longer end of the dividend curve, as companies published weak earnings amid a weak outlook for the Japanese economy.
