BoE to publish ‘golden source’ compounded Sonia index in July

UK to align with US in effort eliminate interest calculation mismatches and turbo-charge adoption

The Bank of England has bowed to industry calls for an official Sonia index, and will publish a new ‘golden source’ compounded-in-arrears version of the risk-free rate from July.

The move aligns with the US, where the Federal Reserve Bank of New York plans to publish a compounded-in-arrears index on the secured overnight financing rate (SOFR) from March 2.
