Singapore Exchange's over-the-counter clearing arm, AsiaClear, celebrates its fifth anniversary this year. Not only was it the first central counterparty in Asia to start clearing OTC derivatives but it was also the first and remains the only CCP in the region to be fully approved by US regulators as a derivatives clearing organisation (DCO) and it isn't hard to see why, given what members describe as 'best-in-class' risk management.
