Japan and Thailand lead HSBC to rates win

Compressed yields continue to force Asian investors offshore. Whilst many of these investors are happy to take on a little more risk if it means getting a better rate of return, the growing trend towards swapping between different currencies has put pressure on the cross-currency swap basis.

This has meant that banks have had to be cleverer in the solutions that they propose to clients that are looking to fund their offshore investments or to monetise their offshore gains. HSBC wins this year's
