E-trading volumes in the corporate credit markets pale in comparison with the level of electronic transactions in the government debt market. But with a growing proportion of trades executed electronically and two new platforms for credit derivatives index trading from MarketAxess and TradeWeb launched last year, the business is just as competitive.

In May this year, just as voting for Credit's European awards was closing, Thomson TradeWeb also launched a European cash corporate bond platform
