BarCap trims equity derivatives heads

The reduction in staff at Barclays Capital continues with a series of departures from its equity derivatives business, including two of its senior London-based equity derivatives traders and one of the co-heads of investor solutions in Switzerland.

Peter Pilavachi, co-head of investor solutions at BarcCap in Zurich, left the bank on January 13, while Nick Nassuphis, head of equity exotics and structured products trading, and Regis Loeb, head of European volatility trading, left in the same week.

BarCap confirmed in November that it had begun a consultation process in the UK to reduce headcount. The bank said it would continue to hire selectively across those parts of the business that are growing.

One of those hires is Rob Heck, who joins
