Marco Moscadelli

Marco Moscadelli - Bank of Italy

After graduaring in statistics and economics at the University of its native town (Siena), he was hired at the Bank of Italy in 1991 where he is currently manager at the Supervision Department. In the Bank of Italy Moscadelli is in charge of validating and reviewing the AMA and supervising the operational risk framework of the Italian banking groups. He also supports the Policy Department for the implementation and maintenance of the domestic regulation on operational risk.

He joined the Standards Implementation Group on Operational Risk (SIGOR) of the Basel Committee in 2002 to become the official SIGOR's Italian member in 2004. Since 2004 he is also leading the group on operational risk established within the CEBS, now the European Banking Authority (EBA).

In his 10 years' experience in operational risk Moscadelli published articles on the quantification of operational risk and gave several courses and lectures on operational risk in Academics circles, Financial Institutions and Supervisory Bodies, including the Financial Stability Institute of the Basel Committee. In 2006 and 2011 he was elected "Regulator of the Year" by the Operational Risk & Regulation magazine
