Lex Hoogduin is independent board member of LCH.Clearnet and chairman of its risk committees. He is professor of Monetary Economics and Financial institutions at the Universtity of Amsterdam and guest professor at the Duisenberg School of Finance. He conducts advisory work for the Dutch Government and the International Monetary Fund. Until July 2011 he has worked in several periods for the Dutch central bank (DNB) as economist, head of the economics and monetary policy department and head of research. From 2009 through June 2011 he was executive director at DNB, responsible for payment systems, economic policy and research, financial markets, financial stability and statistics and information. Lex Hoogduin acted 4 years as an advisor to Wim Duisenberg, the first president of the European Central Bank. From 2005-2008, he was chief economist at Robeco.
