Carlos Henggeler Antunes - University of Coimbra, Portugal

Carlos Henggeler Antunes received the PhD degree in Electrical Engineering (Optimization and Systems Theory) from the University of Coimbra, Coimbra, Portugal, in 1992. He is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computers, University of Coimbra, and the director of the R&D Unit INESC Coimbra.

His research interests include multiple objective optimization and meta-heuristics, multi-criteria decision analysis, decision support systems, and energy systems and policies, with a particular focus on energy efficiency.

He has participated in about twenty R&D and consulting projects. He is author of more than one hundred papers in scientific journals, books and conference proceedings. He has been co-editor of special issues of Annals of Operations Research, European Journal of Operational Research, Decision Support Systems, Energy Policy, International Journal of Energy Sector Management, and International Journal of Systems Sciences, on topics such as uncertainty and robustness in decision models, and application of operational research models and methods in the energy sector. He is a member of the editorial Board of the Journal of Energy Markets and editor of the EURO Journal on Decision Processes.
