UniCredit shed €976bn of OTC derivatives notionals in 2024
Italian bank posts sole decline among EU peers through trade compression
Trade compression helped UniCredit cut its notional amounts of over-the-counter derivatives by 12.7% in 2024 – the only decline among the 32 European Union lenders that published comparable data.
The Italian bank’s notional shrank by €975.9 billion ($1.14 trillion) compared with end-2023, with the reduction concentrated on centrally cleared trades. A spokesperson for the bank attributed the drop
