Credit Suisse seeks capital relief for resolution unit
Finma to rule on whether divesting businesses can reduce op risk RWAs

Credit Suisse is seeking regulatory approval for a plan that would slash operational risk capital requirements for its Strategic Resolution Unit, which houses its non-core assets and business lines.
The discussions with the Swiss financial regulator, Finma, concern operational risk-weighted assets (RWAs) linked to businesses the unit has divested over the past 18 months – such as US private banking, which it exited in late 2015.
Credit Suisse and Finma declined to comment on the discussions
