OpRisk Top 100 Banks: how huge fines are skewing bank losses

Another milestone in China's development as an economic superpower was passed in 2012, with the emergence of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) as the world's largest by Tier I capital, narrowly beating last year's number one, JP Morgan. The 14 Chinese banks that made it into this year's Operational Risk & Regulation Top 100 Banks list grew an average of 31.5% in Tier I capital terms in 2012, after a 24.4% increase in 2011.
