Fed to kick off annual stress-testing programme 'towards end of the year'

A senior source in the Federal Reserve has shed light on plans for more detailed stress tests to be carried out annually in the US.

In March, the Fed shared the details of its Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) programme, which saw some of the largest banks in the US tested against a single adverse macroeconomic scenario. Although the full results of the test were not made public, the Fed used the results to decide whether or not it would approve the institutions' dividend requests
