Deborah Hrvatin, director and head of operational risk management at Deutsche Bank’s global corporate banking and securities division, has achieved the rare feat of creating a key risk indicator programme to help embed operational risk management into the front office
The global financial crisis was a wake-up call for many in operational risk, but it was the rogue-trader event at Société Générale uncovered in January 2008 that galvanised Deborah Hrvatin into implementing some radical changes to the way operational risk is managed in Deutsche Bank’s global corporate banking and securities division.
