Data management key to understanding systemic risk, says expert

Effective management of the deluge of data across individual financial institutions is crucial for understanding systemic risk, according to one industry expert.

"The key to a centralised systemic view is the quality of data delivered has to be of a sufficient standard," says Gerry Giblin, chief executive of data management firm PaceMetrics. "We see a number of key developments that are going to enable change to happen successfully from a regulatory point of view."
