Garp officers set up new group

The senior officers of the Global Association of Risk Professionals (Garp) abandoned the organisation last month to form a new industry group called the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA). They hope PRMIA will remedy the main defects they saw in Garp: profit-seeking and lack of transparency. Disgruntled former regional directors say the new association will perform some of the tasks formerly performed by Garp, such as running a certification programme for risk
