The consolidation machine keeps rolling

Algorithmics, a name that has become synonymous with driving the development of risk management practices and technology, was acquired by the Fitch Group in January this year. Victor Anderson talks to Andy Aziz, Algo's vice-president of buy-side solutions, about his firm's acceptance of Fitch's offer, the potential impact that the acquisition will have on the business, and the changes he's seen in the industry since his entry in 1994

To kick off, Andy, let's discuss Fitch's recent acquisition of Algorithmics. How has the acquisition affected your organisation?

In general, it's been quite positive. Effectively we had fairly complicated capital and investor structures prior to the acquisition but what the acquisition did was simplify things and replace the investment and incentive structures from the previous venture
