Regulators concentrate on key op risk issues for QIS3

A lot of work is going into arriving at a consistent definition of bank gross income, which will be used as a marker for op risk in the less complex Basle II approaches to measuring the risk, regulators said.

They were speaking as parts of the timetable for the Basle II accord slipped again, making it doubtful that the accord will come into effect in 2005, as planned.

German Bundesbank president Ernst Welteke said in a mid-February interview with the German Böisen-Zeitung newspaper that Basle
