London banker in sex scandal

LONDON – A London banker has taken personal leave after photos of her engaged in a sex act were emailed to herself, her boss, work colleagues, and a City gossip website. Eventually, the photos were in general circulation on the internet.

The Evening Standard, a UK newspaper, reported in mid-January that bank chiefs are now trying to identify the sender, and if the sender works for the bank. The email with the photos was apparently sent from a Yahoo! account that had been set up in her name. Another newspaper reported that according to sources the photos were stolen from a memory stick that she owned.

The gossip website has refused to release the name of the woman or the bank that she works for. The site quoted a bank spokesman as saying: "The individual concerned is naturally extremely distressed by this and we are doing everything we can to support them."
