BlueBay expands high yield and distressed debt

BlueBay Asset Management has hired three senior staff for its European high-yield and distressed investment management division in London.

Lucien Orlovius joins as general counsel for the division and will oversee its loan closing operations. He joins from law firm Mandel, Katz & Brosnan where he managed the London office.

Fred Nada joins as an analyst specialising in distressed debt transactions from Credit Suisse where he was a director in the European special situations group.

Samantha Wessels also joins as a distressed debt analyst. She previously worked at financial advisory firm Houlihan, Lokey, Howard & Zukin.

“These hires underline our commitment both to the asset class and to the maintenance of our market leadership in the space,” says BlueBay chief executive Hugh Willis.

The firm now has nearly $6 billion of assets under management in European high yield and distressed debt.
