Allianz sets-up insurance IT group

German insurer,Allianz, has appointed Markus Muller chief technology officer and Kurt Servatius chief operating officer of its newly created IT company, Allianz Shared Infrastructure Services (ASIS).

Coming into operation on 1 July 2007, ASIS will integrate the IT infrastructure of 15 Allianz subsidiaries in western Europe over the course of the next three years. Allianz hopes that reducing its IT provision from the current 26 entities to one will enable greater standardisation across regions.
