Appointment at HSBC

HSBC Amanah, the Islamic financial services division of HSBC, has appointed Salman Ashraf as global head of treasury sales in its treasury and risk management division in Dubai. Ashraf joins from Dubai Islamic Bank, where he was head of treasury and financial institutions. HSBC Amanah created the treasury and risk management unit, headed by Ali Zaidi, in 1998 in response to growing demand for sharia-compliant solutions for balance-sheet and risk management issues facing the Islamic finance
