Banc of America Securities has taken on eight traders and marketers to increase the size of its London-based European equity derivatives team.

Emmanuel Slezack and Arthur de Charnace have joined the team from JP Morgan. Slezack, formerly responsible for flow trading of European indexes, was named head of European equity derivatives index trading. De Charnace, an index trader who worked with Slezack at JP Morgan will have a similar role at Banc of America.

The marketing team will be led by Yann Le Garrec, head of marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for corporate equity derivatives and equity products, who also joins from JP Morgan, along with Patrick Sommer, who previously worked for BNP Paribas and will now head EMEA equity derivatives investor marketing at the US bank.

Alessandro China was hired as a principal in charge of marketing equity derivatives to southern European corporate clients. He previously worked for Goldman Sachs. Geraldine Bartoli, meanwhile, fill the same role for northern Europe and comes from JP Morgan in Paris. Both report to Le Garrec.

Two marketers will report to Sommer: Martin Lehman, joining as a principal from BNP Paribas, and Dirk Grunert, joining as an associate, also from BNP Paribas. Both will concentrate on marketing equity derivatives to European investors.
